How would you react if someone told you Jesus was gay?

The purpose of the scenario is for reconciliation, not to create further divisions in the body of Christ. Before answering the question, ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to give an answer that will glorify Christ. Don’t be afraid to include scripture in your answers.

The idea behind this question comes from a comment that Elton John gave to reporters the other day where he stated that Jesus was a “Compassionate, Gay Intellectual.”

This is not a new idea put out by the gay community. Thirty years ago a homosexual friend of mine tried to make the case using scripture. He referred to the scripture where it says that John was the "disciple whom Jesus loved."

What if you were talking with someone who used scriptures like this one to say that Jesus was gay? How would you respond? Do you have scripture to back up what you believe?
